A: Refunds, when applicable, are limited to totally unused, unvalidated passes, point-to-point tickets and inclusive packages. A minimum 15% cancellation charge applies.
For sleepers where a space has not been cancelled and the ticket not endorsed by a railway official more than 24 hours before the train's departure, a 50% charge will apply. Otherwise, sleepers are refundable by 85%.
To receive your refund, documents must be returned to the issuing office within 6 months of the date of issuance.
Q: What is the Cancellation policy for Eurostar, Thalys and other Premier Trains?
A: These tickets are subject to specific after sales conditions and vary according to the type of ticket purchased. Refunds, when applicable, range from 0 to 100%.
To receive your refund, Premier Train tickets must be received by the issuing office within the time frame allowed by the refund policy associated with the particular ticket. Time frame ranges between 3 days before the train departure date to a maximum of two months after the train departure date. See Eurostar/Chunnel info.
Q: When will I receive my documents (RailPasses, Tickets, Reservations, Vouchers, etc)?
A: Allow 2 to 3 business days for standard delivery. We can also ship your documents overnight, if you wish, for an extra charge.
Q: What is the Rail Protection Plan?
A: It is a plan that provides some compensation when a point-to-point ticket or railpass is lost or stolen. For rail passes, the passholder can receive a refund based on the value of the unused days of the railpass purchased through an agency for Rail Europe. For tickets, the ticket holder can receive a refund based on the unused value of the ticket purchased through Rail Europe or the cost of the replacement ticket purchased in Europe, whichever is lower. Pass Protectection must be purchased at same time as one's pass.
To receive compensation, the customer must do the following: 1) File a police report within 24 hours from the incident and 2) purchase a replacement railpass or point-to-point rail tickets in order to continue with his/her travel plans. 3) Upon return to North America, sumbit a claim to Rail Europe Group (1 800 438-7245) within 30 days including police report, replacement passes or tickets purchased abroad, proof of Rail Protection purchase, airline tickets and a notarized account of events. A: A car day is calculated 24 hours from the time the car is picked up..
Q: Do you need an international driver's license to drive a rented car in Europe?
A: No, an international license is not needed to rent a car in most European countries. However, you must hold a valid driver's license written in English. Top of page
A: A railpass month is counted as a calendar month. For example, a pass that begins on July 15th will expire at midnight on August 14th. Top of page

A: Full Fare is an unrestricted ticket. It is fully exchangeable and refundable even after the departure date. For exchanges and refunds, the ticket must be received by REG no later than 60 days after the train's departure date.
Leisure Fares are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
Youth Fare (for travelers under 26 years of age) is exchangeable and refundable by 100% if the ticket is received by REG no later than three (3) days prior to the train's departure date. No refund after this date.
Passholder Fare (issued in conjunction with appropriate railpass) is exchangeable and refundable by 100% if the ticket is received by REG no later than three (3) days prior to the train's departure date. No refund after this date.
Senior Fare (for travelers 60 years of age and over) is exchangeable and refundable by 100% if the ticket is received by REG no later than three (3) days prior to the train's departure date. No refund after this date.. Top of page
A: We recommend that you have all your documents before you depart for Europe; however, we can ship documents overseas. An additional charge for international shipping applies.

For Railpasses or Tickets that have been stolen or lost, be sure to include: 1 COPY of your Pass Protection and 2. A Copy of a Police Report you should have gotten in Europe--both are REQUIRED TO GET A REFUND.
