Drinking the Water

Didn't get Sick from Water... We drank tap water through out Europe and England and never got sick. And rue Cler in Paris was our favorite neighborhood for home- basing. It had everything and was well within our budget. Valarie Chinn—Kaimuki Budget Europe Student

We saved a lot of money by carrying our own water bottle which we refilled at our hotel, rather than buying beverages. I saw sodas costing as much as $10. and candy bars for $5. from a vending machine in Chantili.    DeAnna  & Jeffrey Damasiewicze

  Tasty Italy

We are in Cortona now and what a beautiful place this is. We have truly arrived in Italian heaven. We could stop now and pass on Rome but will continue on to do the tourist activities. Maybe one day return to Cortona and drive around the country side. People are very nice, we will have our first Tuscan meal tonight which we are hoping will be fantastic. We have already tried several types of wines and they were fantastic. We plan to have a few bottles along with some olive oil sent back home. The bakery's and butcher shops here are incredible...talk about fresh. I was originally born in Brooklyn, New York and the bakery's have many of the items I'm familure with from the Jewish\Italian neighborhood I grew up in.

That is all for now from paradise (Italian style).   Aloha,     Keith of Honolulu, Hi  26 March 05

  France Simple & Fancy

Memorable Week in Paris on a Budget.
We didn't skip anything we wanted to do from biking in Versailles to boating down the Sein--and and we didn't go into debt. One of the first things we did was go to the Rue Cler neighborhood near the Eiffel Tower. While there, we discovered what a great street it was for food shopping. Each morning we ate breakfast here, bought our picnic food for the day and even came back for dinner. DeAnna bought the "best chicken" she had ever eaten in one of the delis there. Since it was so tasty we went back the next day for more. Thats when we discovered it was "rabbit". (I went for more—DeAnna couldn't!)

We saved a lot of money by carrying our own water bottle which we refilled at our hotel, rather than buying beverages. I saw sodas costing as much as $10. and candy bars for $5. from a vending machine in Chantili.    DeAnna  & Jeffrey Damasiewicze

  Britain + Ireland

Ate "Gourmet" on A BUDGET....Mele, Tell people grourmet eating in major cities in Europe is cheaper than in Honolulu. We bought an array of gourmet foods in a London grocery which would have cost us $100 in Honolulu—but only cost $30 there. We ate like royalty for several days.       Valarie Chinn—Kaimuki Budget Europe Student
