Start Early to Interlaken

TRANSPORTATION: Murren--> Lauterbrunnen --> Interlaken  --> Zermatt about 3:30  train  hrs.

Interlaken

SIGHT SEEING:
--You can spend the morning exploring Interlaken or continue to Ballenburg Folk Museum  Ballenberg can be reached by railway from Interlaken straight to Brienz or to Brünig. about 20 min.

About 2 or 3 pm return to Interlaken Ost for your Bags.

Interlaken  --> Zermatt about 3:00  train  hrs.

Matterhorn

The 14,692 feet high Matterhorn 

 Sunnegga-Rothorn

The "Sunnegga express" underground funicular takes   three minutes to lift the visitor up some 701 m/ 2,300 feet to the Sunnegga sun terrace. From there an aerial cableway carries you up to the Blauherd (2599 m/ 8,530 feet), where a further cable car takes you up to the Unterrothorn (3,099 m/ 10,170 feet).

Gornergrat-Stockhorn

Take a trip with the rack railway to the 3130 m/ 10,134 feet high Gornergrat. Enjoy panoramic view of  Matterhorn, the Monte Rosa massif & Gornerglacier  From the Gornergrat top station, aerial cableways continue the journey up to the Hohtaelligrat (3272 m/ 10,735 feet) and the Stockhorn (3407 m/ 11,178 feet).

Zermatt to Chur via Glacier Express

TRANSPORTATION: Zermatt--> Chur about 5:30 hr.  or St Moritz about 8 hours

Lugano to Lucerne (also called Luzern)

SIGHTSEEING Enjoy Switzerland's Riviera. Stroll along the Lake or take a boat ride. Or Hike into moutains on either side of the village.

TRANSPORTATION: From  Lucerne --> Mont Pilatus -->   Krims --> Lucerne

SIGHTSEEING:
--Mount Pilatus Is  a Feary & Steep narrow gauge train ride away. The Narrow gauge Train is steepest in the world.

Enjoy Magnificent Views at Summet and Lunch. Later take Aerial Gondola to village of Krims. Catch 20 min Bus back to Lucerne.

Day trip to to Appenzel  & Ebenalp

Do 15-minute hike down to a narrow, sunny ledge and the Wildkirchli--literally, little wild church--a 400-year-old cave church that housed hermit monks from 1658 to 1853. Here you can see the bones of cave bears and stone tools from the Early Stone Age.

Clinging nearby is a hut built into the cliff to shelter pilgrims who hiked here to pray with the monks

Para-gliders and hang-gliders find ideal wind conditions on this local mountain.

Return to Zurich and home tomorrow.
