Neuschwanstein Castle Day

TRANSPORTATION: From  Reutte, Austria --Take direct bus to Neuschwanstein Castle from hostel. departs 11:25 returns 3:35pm -- 15 min. Other buses available earlier to Fussen or BIKE TO CASTLE. Bike Rentals 50AS p/day w/rail pass  Drive to Fussen--10 min. see map

Sight Seeing: Find Neuschwanstein Castle & Hohenschwangau Castles' Ticket Center in Town located a few blocks from TI towards the Alpsee. & avoid 2 hours in line at Castle. OPENS 7:30 am   Tickets purchased here come with admission TIMES. Miss it--you loose it! OR from USA, GO TO online ordering: ALL in German. Hit "ticket" on far right top.

Both Castles Open 8:30-5:30 shorter hr. winter, Thur. till 7:30 pm 14 DM each or 2 castles for 26 DM children free.

From TI Neuschwanstein Castle is 30 min hike or take shuttle bus to Mary's Bridge. 10 min walk down. 3.50 DM

--City Bus Tour: Vienna Lines offers a"hop on hop off"  tour of 14 sights- good for 2 days.Only 2 buses an hour-- so public transportation might be a better solution

Vienna to Hallstatt in the Salzkammergut Lake District
