Arrive Venice/Venezia

Most Museums are CLOSED MON. & many are closed Sun. --so AVOID letting Florence fall on these days.

TRANSPORTATION  Venezia S.Lucia. --> Firenze SMN check train schedules Eurostar Italia Trains require $27. seat reservation with your Rail Pass or Point to Point Ticket.  Save $ and take a route that doesn't use one of these trains. about 2-3 hr Car & Train.  City Buses Florence Bus Schedules

Hopefully you did most of Orientation Renaissance  Walk your first afternoon.  Includes: 
--Duomo Mon-Sat 10-17:00 Sun. 13:00-17:00 shorter hr. off season.  free.
--Giotto's Bell Tower  Daily 9-18:50 shorter hr. off season  10,000L.
--Baptistery  Mon-Sat 9-18:30 -- one of few open Monday  10,000L.  Doors are always ready for viewing!
--Walk down Via dei Calzaiuoli-- Main street of ancient Florence and now a pedestrian only street.  Along way find Orsanmichele Church -- once a grainery and part of Florence Medieval roots.
--Arrive in Florence's main square Palazzo Vecchio--Florences Political Center. walk to Uffizi Gallery Court Yard.
--After checking out the Fake David and Sq.  walk towards Arno River and famous Merchant Bridge -- Ponte Vecchio.  Catch a sunset here!

--Bus to Siena (70 min) or Fiesole (20 min) by bus.  check schedules.  Arrive after 2 pm when crowds thin down. Have dinner in Hilltown, and return to Florence about 9 pm

Rome/Roma

Art Lovers Finish Florence sight seeing.

TRANSPORTATION  Depart by Noon or earlier.  Firenze SMN --> Roma Termini Station. check train schedules  see Eurostar Italia note. about 2 hr Car & Train  Rome is very. Walkable Bus and Metro info. (metro map) and Taxi may be used occasionally

TRANSPORTATION  For the Vatican Metro Ottaaviano then 15 min walk.  or take Bus #64 --convenient BUT FILLED WITH PICKPOCKETS.

SIGHT SEEING: --Vatican Area  Map  all of this takes about 4-5 hr.
--The Vatican Museum  (Museo Vaticano) with Sistine Chapel is NOT child or adult friendly --particularly between 10-3 (shoulder to shoulder people.) One has to go through the whole museum to get to Sistine Chapel. 8:45-4:45  winter shorter hr. closed Sun + 13 holidays. 18,000L
--St Peter's Cathedral --Free  90 min. English "Pilgrim Service" church tour starts 10:00 & 12:30
--St Peter's Dome Daily: 8-17:00  Elevator to roof & gallery + 10 minute climb into dome for spectacular view --allow an hour.
--St Peter's Square:  Check out ring of columns symbolizing the arms of the churching reaching out to the people designed by Bernini.

CINQUE TERRE - ITALIAN RIVIERA    Photo Album

--If you Leave Rome Early (8-9 AM) you can arrive in Cinque Terre Early Afternoon.

TRANSPORTATION: Roma Termini --> La Spezia--> Home Base Village about 4-5 hrs. Use Route along coast. Often don't need Reservations. check train schedules
