Foreign Currency--Good Source in Honolulu.
Mele <><><>

I bought some foreign currency today from A-1 in the Hyatt Hotel. I called Bank of Hawaii, Capital Foreign Exchange, and Thomas Cook in addition to A-1 and compared exchange rates for French and Swiss francs, and British pounds (plus others) and A-1 by far had the best rates and didn't charge a commission as the others did. There was quite a difference in the rates. Unfortunately, A-1 didn't have a large variety of currency and had no currency for Spain, Portugal or Belgium but did have the aforementioned ones.

Aloha, Peter Bechtold of Mililani

Thanks Peter for the up date. Like any bargain there is some work involved. It is always a good idea to start calling A1 a few weeks prior to departure. Their rates are so good & their stash is limited because their source of currency is from their foreign hotel clients.  Do any of the neighbor islands have similar sources?
