This unique roundtrip
takes you from Interlaken, Grindelwad or Wengen to the highest railway station
in Europe (11,333 feet)-- the Jungfraujoch.
cA modern cogwheel railway
first takes you to Kleine Scheidegg with an altitude of 6,762 feet -- located
at the foot of the notorious Eiger North Wall
From here, the Jungfrau
Railway climbs to the Eiger Glaacier Station which is well known for its
mountain restaurant and polar dog Kennels.
Next you continue up through
the Eiger tunnel, to the Eigerwand and Eismeer stations with five-minute
stop at each station. You will enjoy some spectaular sightseeing through
large observation windows, hewn from solid Alpine rock.
Finally you arrive on
the Jungfraujoch, in the heart of a glorious glacier world on the very top
of Europe! The superb views extend as far as the summits of tje Vosges
Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany.

Attractions on the Jungfraujoch:
The Great Aletsch Glacier, at 22 km (13.6 miles) is the longest ice-stream
in the Alps. It begins directly on the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe.
Ice Palace, Ice Gateway, Sphinx observation terrace, Plateau with hiking
in the eternal snow, "Top of Europe" Glacier Restaurant, summer ski &
snowboard park, husky-drawn sled rides, summer adventure attractions and
High Alpine Research Exhibitions.

Easy to get to from Interlaken
or Luterbrunnen or
Mürren,
the top
of the Schilthorn has 9,842 feet of altitude. From here you can admire
Switzerland's most breathtaking
360º alpine
panorama.
James Bond fans will discover
that the Schilthorn was transormed into the "iz Gloria" for the filming of
"On her Majesty's Secret Service." Dramatic views of snow-covered mountain
peaks and the modern arieal cable way gliding all the way to the mountain
summit led United Artist to choos the Schilthorn.
How to reach Mürren:
From Interlaken, take the train to Lauterbrunnen, then there are two ways
to reach Mürren:
1. From Lauterbrunnen, change to the aerial cableway and then take a train
to Mürren.
2. From Lauterbrunnen, take a postal bus to Stechelberg, then a cable car
to Mürren
Both rides take approximately one hour and are covered by the
Swiss Pass. They are NOT covered from
Interlaken on Eurail, passes, however you can get 25% discount on train and
bus rid by showing your Rail Pass Cover.
