Keep It  Safe:   Sad to say, theft of in-transit bags is a growing problem as is pick-pocket thievery once you get to your big city destinations.  Here are a couple of accessories you can't afford to travel without!  (see Safety Travel Tips)

Be Electrically  Prepared:  Taking an electrical appliance with you to a foreign country?  Before you pack it--check to see if it has dual voltage.  If it doesn't--you will need a transformer/converter as well as appropriate plug adaptors.  Here's why:,  Most countries outside of North America use 220/240 volt electricity (the US uses 110/120 volts).  They also use plugs that are designed differently from ours.  Pack Light enthusiasts  will take dual voltage appliances & adaptor plugs--minimizing the need to carry heavy converters/transformers.  (A new $12. dual voltage hair dryer or battery shaver is half the price of a converter)  Here are our essentials electrically.
Immersion Heater - 220v

Since hot beverages can cost $2.50-$5 per small cup in Europe, budget travelers really appreciate being able make their favorite hot beverage when ever they like in their rooms.  My daughter found the immersion heater useful in heating up a "cup of soup"  etc. Boils water in minutes.  Comes with continental plug (you need a Brit adaptor for UK countries)

Weight: 5 oz. (also available in 110 v. for N. America --please specify voltage)

Our Price: $15.

Adaptor Plugs

Continental Electrical Adapter is used in continental Europe, the Middle East, and former European colonies.

Our Price: $3.75

Brit Electrical Adapter is used in Great Britain, Ireland, Hong Kong and in some former British colonies.

Our Price: $4.50
